AlcoholEdu & Haven Information

Important Update:

PLEASE NOTE: Starting October 31 the waiting period between Parts 1 and 2 is now ONE DAY ONLY.

If you don't have the full 45 day intercession period between Part 1 and Part 2 of each course - don't worry! You will have no problems with registering for classes if you complete Part 2 of each course before November 12th. The intercession period drops to one day after October 31st. So look for the email from EverFi to complete Part 2 this weekend.

Also note that system updates take place 4 times per 24 hours so the course completion might not fall off immediately.

To avoid enrollment holds please complete part 2 of both Alcohol Edu and Haven by November 12th.

Start Date for AlcoholEdu and Haven is September 2, 2014!

This page contains login directions and detailed information that students need to begin AlcoholEdu (AEdu) and Haven – two online prevention programs mandated by UCSC. You will link to each course from your MyUCSC “to do” list. Part 1, the bulk of AEdu + exam takes 1.5 to 2 hours to finish. Haven normally can be done in 45-60 minutes. Both must be completed by September 16, 2014. 45 days after you complete Part 1, you will receive an email directing you to return to MyUCSC for 2 final surveys and a short module that take ~20 minutes. The deadline to complete Part 2 of both courses is November 12, 2014

AlcoholEdu and Haven help students to address critical life skills associated with alcohol abuse prevention and sexual assault prevention. More than ½ million students at 500+ colleges across the country complete these courses annually. AEdu and Haven empower students to make well-informed decisions and create safe, healthy campus environments.

UCSC requires all entering freshmen and transfer students who are 24 years of age and younger on the first day of fall quarter (9/27/2014) to take AlcoholEdu and Haven.

The one exception is students who previously completed both programs. To receive course waivers you will need to email right away. Include your full name, UCSC student ID number, when you completed each course, and the name of the college where you took AEdu and Haven. If you completed AlcoholEdu but not Haven, please state that in the email. Note that you would still need to complete Haven.

What happens when a student does not complete AEdu and Haven? UCSC students who do not satisfy this requirement will not be able to enroll in winter quarter classes until they have finished both programs.
