Mumps Alert
The UC Berkeley campus has recently seen over 35 cases of mumps predominantly in students residing in University housing. There have been no documented cases at the Santa Cruz campus. Most students are protected against mumps due to prior immunization with two doses of the MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine. We recommend a booster vaccination for those students who are not certain they have received two doses of MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) vaccine. Students may call 459-2500 and request to schedule a booster MMR vaccine appointment at the Student Health Center.
