Students Who Have Insurance Other Than UC SHIP
What services are available on campus if I don’t have UC SHIP?
All registered UCSC students are permitted to use the Student Health Center — even if they have off-campus insurance.
Reminder: The Student Health Center does not directly bill insurance plans other than UC SHIP. If you waive UC SHIP enrollment and use the Student Health Center, you will be personally responsible for paying for that care. Your charges will be billed to your student account. There are some free services available though, check it out! Services that are free to all registered UCSC students regardless of insurance type:
Alcohol/drug recovery support with an Alcohol and Other Drug Educator
Group and individual support available with the CoveCase Management
A case manager can provide support in connecting to primary and specialty medical care providers, mental health providers (therapy, psychiatry and psychological testing), offer assistance accessing referrals for on and off campus and staff can also assist in navigating insurance coverage.
Counseling and psychological services with a licensed therapist
